Social life

London has many venues to watch sport or even participate in sport.

England Cricket

There is nothing more English than watching a game of cricket on a village green. You can even purchase tickets to watch a match at Lord’s or the Oval, the prestigious grounds in London.

Football club

Britain is renowned for football. Across the capital there are many places to watch an exciting international game such as Wembley stadium. Many local matches are played at Stanford Bridge football ground, Chelsea, close to Burlington school or even Fulham football club.

Tennis club

There are many public tennis courts where you can have a game of tennis. If you are here in June you may be lucky to buy tickets for Wimbledon.

Swimming

In Ardingly, on the junior programme, there is an indoor swimming pool where students can use the facilities. In London there are many lidos (outdoor swimming pools). Take a dip in an alfresco pool in Brockwell lido a Grade II art deco building or even in the Serpentine lake in Hyde Park. If this doesn’t appeal there are many indoor public swimming pools in various leisure centres across the city.

Horse riding

On the Ardingly junior programme there is the opportunity of taking part in horse riding. This takes place in the glorious West Sussex countryside.

Kayaking

On the Ardingly junior programme there is the opportunity of participating in the relaxing sport of kayaking. This takes place in the on-site lake.
